This brings us back to the budget issue. What kind of coating your plates will have largely depends on the money you will be able to spend on the hair iron. The most common type around are the ceramic plates. There are also glass plates, but they are way to fragile, and if you drop your hair iron heaven forbid, you may as well start looking for a new one right away.
