things that grow

Toadstools

Today I'm bringing in some of the things that I've been working on to share with my daughter's classmates. We'll see how they stand up to the scrutiny of first and second graders.

I'm thinking of putting together a little pattern booklet of mushrooms, twigs, stumps, maybe pinecones (not for the impatient...I sew each of the little scales on by hand). Does this interest anyone? I would be putting it in my shop over the summer. I use a combination of hand and machine sewing on these.

Tomorrow, I hope to be back with a finished hedgehog (this has me inspired). Then Monday will be my farewell post...which has me full of mixed feelings. This post articulates my motivation for making the change pretty well, but I'll miss this place, and all of you, a lot.

I would love a pattern book (or just even a pdf) of your "little bits" i find them so charming.

Oh I would be very interested in a potential pattern book. My son would be thrilled if I could craft him a little forest floor of his very own :)

The mushrooms drive me CRAZY!! Pure LOVE!! I would buy the pattern.

I think a book of patterns would be lovely It would be a way of sharing what you do without your having to be the hands-on maker.

Absolute, big interest in a pattern book.

your designs are amazing. so many beautiful details. i just wish i could sew. :) thinking of you as you enter the last few days of blogging and sending a hug your way.

I love your twigs (and mushrooms and pinecones...). I would love a pattern book!

I would be very interested in a pattern book.

p.s. your blog is a joy to read!

Mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms!!! I can't tell you how excited I am for your book.

I'd like the patterns if you make them.

It will be sad to see you leave Blogland.

keri's post moved me as well. kudos for you for taking a deep breath! live. enjoy. thinking of you...

Delurking to say "YES!" I'd be wildly interested in a pattern book. As it is I keep my eyes peeled when walking around the neighborhood in the hopes of spotting a wee mushroom sprouting about...

These toadstools are beautiful and the buttons for the spots are the perfect touch.

I will really miss your blog. Yours was one of the first that I discovered and has been a constant source of inspiration for me. But you have to go with what feels right and most importantly, you may stop blogging but you won't stop creating beautiful things.

It's still so sad.

i will miss this space too, but that slow time will be good time. and thank goodness for flickr. hugs to you stephanie.

Every blade of grass has its angel that bends over it and whispers, "Grow, grow."

I would definitely be interested in such a pattern booklet - your work is amazing! I just love the mushrooms so much.

Do you have an email shop alert list? If so, how do I join?

I will miss your blog so.

Fantastic with a pattern-book, will definetly be interested. Just found your blog, and am sad it is time for you to end it!

i love your idea for a pattern book. your designs are so great. it is a wonderful way for you to pass on your talent without making each one.

i will miss your blog but know it is going to be a blessing for you.

I hope your journey takes you to many wonderful places....

so, i guess you're serious about saying farewell? like everyone else, i will miss your little bit of heaven on earth. a pattern book would be a lovely way for us to keep a part of your creativity with us.

I would love it if you put together a pattern book of your forest creations. How generous and thoughtful of you. Thank you for your wonderful blog.

I love the little creations and would love to try some myself. The pattern book would be a sweet way of remembering all the sweet crafty things that you have done!

A pattern book of mushrooms and twigs and bits and lovelies would make me swoon!
