Squirrel_in_kerchief

We are having our roof torn off (all 100 years worth of layers) and a new one put on, and it is incredibly  loud and messy. I am, however, completely amazed by how hard the guys doing it are laboring and for such long hours. It is truly humbling.

Also humbling are all your supportive and kind comments. Thank you.

Comments

I didn't stop to read all the comments from yesterday, but I'm sure I'm not the first to say that we'll miss you a lot and of course, we'll all hope that your archives will stay active for a while.

However, it seems you've been toying with/trying to get away from this for a little while now, so congratulations and good for you. Best wishes in all your new adventures.

I so adore your squirrels. They have such character! :)

Soooo lovely.

i didn't get a chance to leave a comment yesterday, thank-you for all the moments you have shared with us and congratulations on making the decision that is right for you xxx

If you're having your roof re-roofed, you may want to take any pictures off the wall, and any precious breakables down, no matter what they may have told you!

Let me know when you might unlease one of your squirrels . . . I'm sure I'd give it a lovely home . . .

I just love the litle branches and all that! Congratulations:)

So sorry about your roof problems, but you'll be as snug as a bug in a rug in no time flat. This is so darn cute, she needs to come and meet Holey and Roley Moley! Just adorable!

Will miss you and all of your craftiness! Though I do wish the best for you! Good Luck!

I'm so saddened to hear you are retiring from blogging. Your photos, notes and thoughtful glimpses on life/living/motherhood have been so refreshing and grounding. Even though I don't know you, I've greatly enjoyed reading your blog and following your projects. Your crafts are unbelievably inspirational. And I appreciate the quiet wisdom you have left on these pages. True, I don't know you, but I feel like I will miss a friend at the end of April. I'm happy that you are doing what you need to do and what is best, but your presence here at little birds handmade will be greatly missed. Best of luck in your new ventures and your continued success.

Man, I wish all my neighborhood squirrels REALLY looked like that- don't get me wrong, they are cute in real life but squirrels with kerchiefs and fabulous tails would make my day!

A couple years back, we had our house painted and I felt the same sort of humility toward our hardworking crew. Needless to say, there was a constant flow of homemade cookies, lemonade and water...I couldn't help offering them snacks. Of course my kids tought they were in heaven when they saw me dishing out cookies all week long...

can't wait to see all of your work.

how i wish i could see the doe show in person!
i'm in awe of the wonderful curly tail on that squirrel. and such a cute kerchief, too.

much love for all the beautiful things you are up to creating:) may a new roof come quickly.***

I love the 'kerchief on the squirrel's head - so cute!!
