hatch
Feeling ready to hatch. Finishing up things for the show*. Entering my last week of this blog. Looking forward to a long weekend away with my sister, free from my everyday responsibilities and full of the silliness that usually ensues when we're together. Knowing, however, that I'll be ready to come back at the end of it. Thinking about swimming in my favorite river, about discovering wildflowers in the gorge, about berry season, about gin and tonics on the porch. Imagining life once my kids are out of school, contemplating having them never return. Feeling grateful. Trying to live life as slow as possible during a busy time.
* the opening is may 4th from 7-10 at doe for those of you who are asking.

perfect. enjoy!

Thank you for being such an inspiration, not only through your artwork but by the ways you choose to live.

who ever knew how difficult is was to just slow down. it's such a non-stop conscious effort for me but it has such rewards. enjoy your sisterly silliness, it's often the best silliness there is.

I'm de-lurking to let you know that I too will miss your blog, but I understand wanting to let things go, to simplify, to slow down. Enjoy your time with your sister and best wishes to you.

Sometimes when reading a blog I wish there was a way to reach through the computer screen and meet the writer. This is one of those times. Not sure what it was in this post (probably the idea of sipping a gin and tonic while sitting on the porch soaking up the loveliness of late spring) but reading it made me think I would enjoy knowing you in real life.

There is no information on the Doe site about the show (well, I couldn't find any information about it on there). We plan to check it out on Friday!

HOLY COW
I just found your blog and I am so impressed by your work. I love what you have done, and I love your birds. I made a bird and a pattern but he is just a little guy to put in your hair, or on a present or something. He's also good for hiding in peoples drawers.
Thanks for sharing your work.

I'm not sure I'm to happy about you leaving us Stephanie.....you are such an inspiration.
I never really commented or tried to make contact with you, knowing you got your hands full, but your blog was one of the reasons I started out in the first place. And I always planned on trying to get in touch with you. Got my hands full too I guess. I'm sad to see you go :o(
Have fun with your wonderful sister and please give her a hug from me ;o)
