hedging my bets

Working_on_a_hedgehog

When I make a new animal, it usually takes 3-4 tries before I get it right (or good enough). This is try #2 on the hedgehog, and I'm hoping the third time's a charm.

I read a really inspirational article this morning in the house and home section of the New York Times about a family that was trying to live a year without making an impact on the environment. You can also read about it on their blog No Impact Man.

He looks great so far. I cannot wait to see all the pieces come together. Make sure you and LIsa take lots of photos at Doe.

Stephanie- He couldn't get any more perfect.

He looks pretty good to me!

I love that article. I have been going carless for about a month now and I have to say I am surprised to find out how liberated I feel. It has encouraged me to simplify my life in many ways and the results have been extraordinary.

he looks a bit frustrated - I like that.
Thanks for the link.

i love his dour expression. (and thanks for the link. v.interesting. goes well with things i have been thinking about.)

He's off to a cute start. I can't wait to see everything come together.

I agree, he's off to a very cute start! I love hedgehog stuffies and think that this one is just adorable :)

He looks good to me, though a little sad. I'm off to read that NYTimes article. Trying to leave as little impact as I can, too.

girl, our show is going to be a smash. and it's all going to be because of you. (er, he better be going into the show).

cute, real cute, as dad would say.

oh oh he's perfectly wonderful. I anticipate the arrival of his siblings! :D

Adorable! Makes me think of Hedgie's Surprise by Jann Brett. You're blog is definitely going to be one of my daily reads now. I look forward to following more of your lovely work and enjoying the pictures included with your entries.

I can't believe you think he needs revision.

I. Love. Him.

What was that japanese craft book you've linked to in the past that teaches the fundamentals of your three-sided stuffed animal technique (a la this hedgehog's face)? I've tried looking in the archives but am having a bit or trouble and would love to know how to make these!

Oh he has the best look on his face- you are amazing!

oh my, this little fellow is too cute!

He's looking great! If ever you tackle a wool raccoon....I'd love to see it. I'm sure your interpretation of it would be beautiful.
