settling in

New cushion covers for fall/winter made from a Vera tablecloth I found while thrifting with my sister.

Feels so good to tackle a few things around the house (I hung some art work too) after a super busy start to fall. New cushions do not fully distract me from (still) wanting a new sofa (or that the perfect, but out-of-my-price-range, one is at the mid-century shop just down the block), but it helps.

What great suggestions you guys had for the pirate party! Thanks mateys!

i have been looking for some vera along these lines - that color is gorgeous. found the pirate craft book i was thinking of too - "pirate things to make and do" from usborne. (let me know if you need any more "things to make and do") xo

it's a yard sale find...though i've been told it's by a mid-century designer whose name escapes me at the moment. i think that cb2 does a knock-off.

i do worry that my kids are going to knock it over!

Peter and I have started a sofa fund. We found one a Design Within Reach that we can no longer deny our love for. Totally modern, pea green boucle, and tufted. It'll take us years worth of resisting store-bought lattes to get there.
