nutty
My kids wanted to make something for my table at Studio Craft, so we created these little guys from wool roving and acorn tops today. Pretty cute.

Another squirrel. His tail came out really pouffy! I'm a little nutty myself, still scrambling to get things done. I'm about 30% there with the Halloween costumes, pumpkins have been carved (and the seeds roasted), gingerbread ghosts have been baked, iced and decorated, (some) projects and swaps have finally been finished and mailed, and I've been sewing and stuffing as fast as I can (which, admittedly, is not very fast as I'm kind of slow and finicky) for Studio Craft. In fact, I've run out of stuffing, so I'll be moving on to other things this week (provided my Gocco supplies are delivered in time). I know that I'm not going to be able to make as many things as I had planned (my sister is arriving on Wednesday to further distract me), but I'll be happy to just sit there with whatever I can manage to put together and enjoy the truly fine company (and do some shopping of my own). Everything left over will be added to my shop the following week. I'll let the mailing list know ahead of time.
Off to tackle the fake fur viking vest...

What sweet acorns! I might have to try and make me some;)

oh wait...we have to make things to sell at studio craft?? here I was just looking forward to the party. And, maybe I'm wrong, but didn't Halloween use to be a day and night when we were kids? Its more like a season now.
Those are the cutest acorns I have ever seen. I should bring my wool roving to give to you. I have so many pretty colors and I'm never gonna use it. If you can use it let me know, you are welcome to it.
I'm off to collapse (too tired to even captialize letters). can't wait to see you! xo

I am amazed at your ability to multitask between kids craft projects, halloween costumes, cooking and baking and getting ready for this show (all done extremely well) - and still be calm enough to accept that you will bring whatever you have done and enjoy yourself. You are truly an inspiration.

The acorns are adorable. I'm really going to have to try to resist snatching up all the cute goodies from everyone's tables on Saturday. Must.not.be.greedy.

Stephanie,
This latest squirrel is absolutely out-of-control cute! The plaid body, light blue scarf and extra puffy tail are just brilliant - great job!

I just saw some acorns like those the other day here: http://whatastitch.blogspot.com/2006/10/fall-inspiration.html
and immediately put them on my list...for November, mind you...after all the Halloween hullabaloo. I was thinking that I didn't have the "right" colors of wool but I so love your kids' bright versions. Thank you. Now, I won't need to buy any new roving.
Each of the squirrels are truly unique and incredible. They're cuteness makes me ache!
