chirp!
Thank you everyone for all the amazing comments and emails. I am just completely overwhelmed with the kindness. I am doing by best to get back to as many of as I can, but it may take me a while, bear with me.
I received a great little piece of periwinkle blue wool boucle (the back of a thrifted woman's blazer actually) in the mail yesterday from reader Sherry. Thank you Sherry! I just had to make it into a little bird right away, a bird wearing a little felt hat with some flowers in the hat band, to be exact.
This bird and a few other things will be in my shop on Friday. It will be just a wee update, but I do want to stick with my plan of adding a few things every Friday morning.
Have a great day!

ok - now this made me smile! (again!!)

I have always admired your style and your complete devotion to your ideals, especially with regard to your family life. I am so very sorry that your world has been violated, it makes me very sad to know we won't be seeing/hearing anymore about your sweet babes. I feel very selfish to say that, but as a mother of my own little wonder, I know you have made the right choice. I do hope that you will resolve the situation so that the person/s who were deceitful will know that such behavior is unacceptable. Wishing you all the best!

I LOVE this little fella. I would have never thought to use a boucle wool coat for fabric.
Way to reuse!

the bird, the hat, the rakish angle... love it all.

he is just too wonderful for words! Great thrifted material (gotta love that. I went to Salvation Army today because all clothing was 50% off and bought... 4 skirts, 1 blazer and 1 coat. The vintage wool coat will be the only thing I keep, the rest.. all wool gaberdine, herringbone, etc.. will go on to be other things. And I only spent $25).
I hope you get a resolution to your past issues involving the situation you have spoke of. It is just sad there are people out there like that!

Your new blog rocks! I just wanted to say that your hippo book prompted an impulsive purchase on my part. Little L. and I can hardly wait for its arrival. Take care. Your life and art inspires goodness and wonder.

Oh man. You have got to be kidding me. Okay, no one should be able to make something that cute. Woman, how in the world do you do it?! You're my hero Stephanie. ;)
