boot season
I often feel a little guilty about how much I love the rain, how happy I am to see it return. I know that everyone doesn't get all gleeful when it is dark and gray and you're digging out last year's sweaters and boots, but I do. This evening we had sun and rain (and rainbows), and, c'mon, you've got to love that.

I love the rain, too! Die hard Oregonian, I guess. I was thrilled to have the thunderstorm this evening. Welcome to the rainy season!

Oh, me too, me too! My absolute favorite kind of day. Give me fog, and gray clouds, and chilly rain, and I'm happy. Your pictures almost make me smell that just-rained smell!

Hi! lurker here... love your blog.
I loved the rain today too. I love rain more on a day-to day basis rather than the whole season. As long as we get sunbreaks every now and then, I can deal.
But today it was just cozy and smelled nice. Ahhhhh...
ps, you and some of the other crafty blogs around here have inspired me to get my sewing machine out. Thank you! I have sewn my 9 month old son two pair of pants so far. Its so fun.

rain and sun and rainbows are somethin' to love! and the smell of fresh new rain has got to be on that list too. getting out all of last year's rain gear on the other hand,is not somethin' i love. (someone's always grown out of something,or lost something and we have to scramble to get our foul weather gear together)lovely photos by the way, mia looks so happy!

The rain is one of the many things I miss about living in Oregon. Last night we had a magical thunderstorm here which is rare but we loved every minute of it. But there is nothing like that subtle rain that seems to be constant in your everyday life in the Northwest. I have convinced my husband that if we ever move back to the states it will be to Oregon.
Like everyone else said, thanks for inspiring me to get out my camera everyday!

brilliant photos! and I agree, the light of the sun after the rain is magical.
Me and the boys stopped on the side of the road and watched this huge perfect rainbow until it disappeared. Like a fairy tale.

So you'ld love Belgium, it's like a 'Rain paradise'. We don't say 'it's raining cats and dogs' or 'it's pouring down'. No, we call it - Drache nationale - which means ' National big thick rain'. Happy fall to you!

I just found you and will read more of your blog in a minute with my long awaited coffee!. (my memory is a 'little' unreliable so I may have been here before!)
I love the rain but only when i'm ready for it! Yesterday on the walk to school the rain was coming down like stair rods and we had summer uniform on and no sign of a coat. We seem to be having another kind of heatwave over here and so it caught us unawares. It was a gentle(!) reminder to dig out the waterproof over-trousers and wellingtons!

I suppose there is no other way to enjoy the weather, but with a great pair of rain boots. Or in my case (living outside of chicago), a hat, scarf, mittens...thankfully, I can keep these things in storage for several more weeks! But when they do make their appearance, it is exciting. And a thrill to put them away in the Spring!

I love the rain, probably because we spend lots of time in the garden. No amount of watering by hose can do for the flowers and veggies what a good hard rain can!

i grew up
where rain
was a treat
that
occasionally
wet
the parched

so i always
find rain
like a

cold water
on a hot day.

I love this weather too Steph, another reason I knew we'd hit it off : )

i love rain for these reasons: good naps, cozy blankets, reading and soup. yum.

i am right there with you. when the rain came yesterday i got all excited about pulling on some wool and layering things up. i love the feeling of curling up for the evening with a nice glass of wine or tea and knitting. there is something about the cold that bring out the knitting needles.

I love the rain, too. We just moved to Washington from dry Colorado, and we're pleased to see the rain arrive!
Although I was shocked to not be able to find rain boots in adult sizes - I had to order online. How weird is that?

OH! It's wonderful to see all these people who dig rain. I thought I was alone in my rain love. Now I see I will have to share. :)

it has been raining here today..much needed as we are in a drought. I love it so much. It also means that I can be a little lazy and use my dryer instead of hanging out the clothes..more time for sewing and illustrating!

I love a cold, rainy day! I am so glad the weather is turning a little chilly... Fall is on its way! There's nothing better than wrapping up in a blanket with something warm to drink, a good book, and the sound of rain on the roof!

I also love the change is seasons. I grew up in the North of France where it rains a lot, with plenty of fog and all... Here in DC, there is so much sun and heat that I was also so excited to put my red rubber boots on and feel the rain!
