circles tee and email-list
Thank you so much for all the incredible blogiversary well wishes! Of note, in an effort at time management, I have started to reply in the comment section rather than by email. That way everyone gets to hear my answer to specific questions. So check back if you're looking for more information. Please still feel free to email me privately (and I will do my very best to get back to you, but it may take a few days).
Above is a quickie addition to a plain tee. Inspired in part by Hillary's quilted tee (although mine is not quilted and does not really compare) and by the circles pillow that I made my brother.
I have been busy hand-sewing animals. I am awaiting a delivery of wool stuffing so most are missing their innards, not yet stuffeds. I plan on opening up a simple shop here at the blog in about two weeks. It will be too late for Valentine's Day, but I have a lot of springtime and Easter animals in the works. I will accept PayPal and will gladly ship overseas. I will try to replenish the shop weekly or as items sell. If you'd like to be on a mailing list and be notified of when the shop will be opening (I will let you know a few days beforehand and remind you when it goes up) as well as hear when I've updated, please send me an email to littlebirds(at)comcast(dot)net with the subject line "little birds email list".

Adorable T. I can't wait to sign up for your mailing list [and to buy some stuffeds for our Easter baskets!].

Great Tee! I'd much rather do something like that with my clothes than buy something from a store that a thousand others will have too.

Did you do anything to the edges or did you leave them raw? I'm just curious about the "fray" factor... Totally cute shirt!

yes yes ... what a wonderful shirt.
a great way to pep up a dull old tee. i loved Hillary's too. now i need to learn how to sew! yikes. take care, mav

persephone: the appliques have raw edges and were ironed on with Steam-A-Seam and then sewn over. We'll see how it washes and weathers. I like frayed edges.

That is a great T-shirt, I love what you did with it. You answered the question I emailed you about over the weekend in this post. I'm putting in my order now, our house needs a "little birds" lamb for Easter!

I love it!!

Can I ask where you ordered the wool stuffing from? I'd like to get some but it has been a challenge to find a vendor. Thanks!

what a great t-shirt! i have so many tees with little spots -- i'll defintely be trying this to give them some new life!

Neat t-embellishement. I was just pondering embroidering robots on mine...I also want to know about your wool stuffing. Where do you get it?
Posted by: Lizette | January 30, 2006 at 08:44 AM
I love those. I just got the supplies to make some for me and my kids. I was going to do block style initials, but the circles look so nice. It's a great way to salvage t-shirts.

I think if you made more of those t-shirts you could sell them in your shop... or kits to make your own...it turned out suuuuper cute!

oh i love this; and it's a perfect idea for a tee i have that has a tiny stain on it!

thank you everyone. lizette and abbyjane: i have purchased wool for stuffing at yarn shops and on ebay, but this time i bought it at Magic Cabin (magiccabin.com). i think their price is pretty reasonable.

I LOVE your new header!!!
Posted by: Claire | January 30, 2006 at 05:33 PM
I agree, you new header is super! Those sweet little birds are just incredible. Do you find that wool stuffing is better then good quality poly-fill? I have never used wool before and was curious of the difference. Just the fact that wool is natural appeals to me very much.
