home on the range

An apron for Miles. Linen with a horse drawn by Mia (I added some polka dots for a palomino effect) that I screenprinted with my gocco. I mixed my own textile ink, and in the middle of the night in my poorly-lit kitchen, it looked like just the right color (chocolate sauce!). It came out, however, a little dark and muddy.
This was my first time using the gocco on fabric that didn't end in disaster, so I'll get over it. Lots of pockets for all Miles' tools and gadgets. Yee-haw!

love!!!!!!!!!!!!!
really-not to play favorites-that shot on the sofa is amazing. way to go.

Love that apron for your little guy. I found my boy an apron sort of like a nail penny apron but for kids for gardening at a hardware store in Port Townsend WA. He fills the pockets full of stuff- crayons, rocks, you know.
Are you using the fabric tools with your gocco or just the textile ink? (I have the B6, and am curious... oh, and lazy.)

A boy apron--what a great idea! And that one is just perfect: the fabric, the stripey pockets (you can never have too many pockets), the horse! I think my little guy needs one right away.

i think it's so fun that you used a drawing of your daughter's. i first saw this concept from lizette greco (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lizettegreco). such a fun idea! what a fabulous picture of miles.

I love the apron and am incredibly impressed that Miles thinks a hand brush is a boy gadget - but I suppose all cowboys should clean up after their horses. You have him well-trained!

Miles looks like he has a lot of sass in that last picture as does Mia's wonderful horse!
Really amazing.

when i first saw mia's drawing in your earlier post i immediately copied it with a red pastel into my journal as i did not want to forget -- also i know picasso had something profound to say about kid's art and i also know that artists learn by copying the masters -- keep the drawings coming, mia girl!
stay well and peace out...
